BULK SCAN YOUR COLLECTION

A repeatable routine for getting hundreds of Magic cards catalogued and valued in an evening.

  1. 1. Sort into stacks of about 50

The scanner handles any number of cards per batch. Splitting by set or by binder page keeps the results easy to check afterwards.

  2. 2. Create a binder first

Name a binder - Trade, Commander deck, Bulk rares - before scanning, so every card lands in the right list instead of one big pile.

  3. 3. Use even, indirect light

Overhead light straight onto a sleeved card creates glare that hides the title. Angle the card slightly, or scan unsleeved on a dark surface.

  4. 4. Let auto-capture do the work

Hold the card inside the frame until the edges lock. Capture fires by itself, the same card is never counted twice, and unreadable frames are discarded rather than saved.

  5. 5. Check foils and quantities

Duplicates are merged with a quantity counter. Correct any foil call before exporting - foil and non-foil are priced separately.

  6. 6. Export the value report

The collection page totals value by set, rarity and finish, then exports to CSV for a spreadsheet, or to a deck list for a deck builder.

How accurate is the total?

Totals use near-mint English market prices for the exact printing and finish detected, in the currency you selected. Adjust downwards for played condition before quoting a buylist.
